NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
The goal of the National Service Scheme is education through community service. The purpose is to enrich the Student’s personality and deepen his/her understanding of the social environment in which he/she lives. It helps students to develop an awareness and knowledge of social problems and to promote welfare. The ultimate objective of the scheme is “Student’s self-development integrated with community development”. |
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It offers students an excellent platform to participate in various government-led and community service activities. The primary aim of NSS is to develop the personality, character, and social responsibility of students through voluntary community service.
NSS provides valuable opportunities for young individuals to gain hands-on experience by participating in social service activities that directly benefit both the students and the communities they serve. Through these activities, students are encouraged to develop qualities such as leadership, teamwork, empathy, and civic awareness. Our institution has four NSS units, and each unit enrolls 100 students. Currently, 400 students are actively registered as NSS volunteers. These units actively conduct various programs, including awareness campaigns, health camps, environmental initiatives, and educational support for underprivileged communities.
The NSS program plays a crucial role in instilling a sense of duty and social commitment in students while equipping them with essential life skills. It serves as a valuable platform for youth to contribute meaningfully to society and build a responsible, socially conscious generation.
